On July 30, 2024, Halifax County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a shooting report on Thompson Store Road in Halifax County, Virginia. Upon arrival, they discovered 35-year-old Travis Ragsdale lying face down next to a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Ragsdale was pronounced dead at the scene.
