In a tragic turn of events, a domestic dispute in Dumfries, Virginia, ended the life of 30-year-old Ashleigh Kaylynn Cash. On the evening of August 7, 2024, police were called to a residence in the 1900 block of Fort Monroe Court after an acquaintance discovered the bodies of Cash and a man inside the home.
Investigators with the Prince William County Police determined that an altercation had occurred between Cash and 33-year-old Davaughn Jamaal Henderson, with whom she was reportedly in
a relationship. It is believed that during the escalation of this dispute, Henderson shot Cash before turning the gun on himself. Both were pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds, and a firearm was recovered.
The preliminary investigation points to a murder-suicide, with authorities assuring the public that the incident was isolated to the residence and there was no ongoing threat to the community.
