In what was a tragic culmination of domestic violence, 35-year-old Lemlem Hayelu Habte, a female resident of Dumfries, Virginia, was killed on March 20, 2019. Her life was taken by her 44-year-old husband, Christopher Andre Quincer, in a murder-suicide that followed a series of escalating altercations.

The events leading to the fatal encounter began the day before, on March 19, 2019, when Habte reported a verbal dispute with Quincer at their Woodbridge home on Balsam Street to the police. ...
