On August 18, 2024, at approximately 7:55 p.m., Hopewell Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 900 block of Davisville Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered 44-year-old Conell "Joe" Gholson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to TriCities Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
