On the evening of September 27, 2024, Salem Police responded to a domestic disturbance call on Hale Avenue in Salem, Virginia. Upon arrival, officers discovered 44-year-old Joshua Dickson unresponsive with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
