In the quiet city of Salem, Virginia, the life of 35-year-old Damian Wright was tragically cut short. On the night of Friday, September 20, 2013, violence erupted at the Oak Park Apartments, leaving Wright with a fatal gunshot wound. When law enforcement arrived at the apartment complex in the 100 block of Otter Avenue, they discovered Wright on the ground in the parking lot.
