On September 29, 2024, at approximately 12:30 AM, Portsmouth police responded to a shooting in the 600 block of Lancer Drive in Portsmouth, Virginia. Upon arrival, officers discovered 53-year-old Michael Thomas Marshall suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Marshall was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
