In the early morning hours of Sunday, September 29, 2024, tragedy struck in Danville, Virginia, ending the life of 21-year-old Ammorrion Rashad Harris. Harris, a Black male, was found lying on the sidewalk in front of Culture Restaurant at 510 Spring Street just before 1:30 a.m., suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency services transported him to SOVAH Health Danville, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The shooting that claimed Harris's life also
resulted in injuries to three other individuals. These victims arrived at the same hospital shortly after the initial incident with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds sustained in the same event on Spring Street. He was taken into custody in connection with the shooting and faced a series of charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, attempted aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm from a moving vehicle. Following his arrest, Keith was held in the Danville City Jail without bond as the police continued to pursue active leads in the ongoing investigation.
