On October 1, 2024, at approximately 12:37 a.m., the Lynchburg Police Department responded to multiple reports of gunfire in the 100 block of Water Gate Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered 36-year-old Anthony Dwight Davis with a gunshot wound; despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
