On a Saturday night in Woodbridge, Virginia, a dispute between two men who knew each other ended in a fatal shooting. Jeffery Kojo Owusu, a 27-year-old man with no fixed address, was identified as the victim. The incident, which was not a random act, occurred on November 2, 2024, in a commuter parking lot located at 2250 Prince William Parkway.
Prince William County Police officers were called to the scene around 10:42 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Owusu in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his upper body. First aid was administered at the scene before he was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the shooting revealed that Owusu had been involved in an altercation with another man. The situation escalated, leading to a physical struggle over a firearm. During this struggle, the gun discharged, and Owusu was shot. The other individual involved fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
With the assistance of the Fairfax County Police Department, which utilized a K-9 unit and a helicopter, investigators were able to track the suspect to his residence in Vienna, Virginia. There, they arrested 22-year-old Christian Geiger without any further incident. Geiger has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with Jeffery Kojo Owusu's death and is being held without bond pending his court appearance.
