On February 7, 2023, a tragic double homicide occurred in Fairfield County, South Carolina. Malik Butler, a 22-year-old resident of Jenkinsville, and Theron Byrd, a 23-year-old from Winnsboro, were found deceased inside a residence on Marsh Lane in the Highway 215 South area of Jenkinsville. The Fairfield County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of shots fired shortly after 1 a.m. and discovered the bodies of the two young men.
