On February 7, 2023, 23-year-old Theron Byrd of Winnsboro and 22-year-old Malik Butler of Jenkinsville were found dead inside a residence on Marsh Lane in the Highway 215 South area of Fairfield County, South Carolina. Deputies from the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a shooting in the early morning hours and discovered the bodies of the two young men.
