On March 26, 2023, Carlton Burris, a 28-year-old resident of Bishopville, South Carolina, was tragically shot on Elmore Road in Lee County. Following the incident, Burris was transported to Carolina Pines Hospital in Hartsville, where he was pronounced dead.
