On a tragic Saturday night in Bishopville, South Carolina, the life of 21-year-old Dearuion Hick was cut short. The young Black male was fatally shot on March 25, 2023, at Young's convenience store located on Main Street. The incident was one of two separate fatal shootings that cast a dark shadow over Lee County that evening, leaving the community in a state of shock and mourning.
