In the early morning hours of a summer day in Georgetown, South Carolina, a dispute turned deadly, claiming the life of 37-year-old Reginald Green. On June 23, 2023, at a Money Saver gas station on High Market Street, an argument escalated into a violent confrontation that ended with Green being fatally shot. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found him lying in the parking lot.
The investigation into the death of the male victim quickly led to the identification of three
suspects. Authorities announced that 21-year-old Keon Spann was wanted for murder in connection with the shooting. Police reports indicated that Spann was the individual who allegedly fired the weapon that killed Green. Following the incident, Spann fled and was considered armed and dangerous by law enforcement officials who launched a search for his whereabouts.
Two other individuals, 20-year-old Mantasia Coakley and 20-year-old Jaheem Johnson, were apprehended and charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Investigators believed they played a role in the events following the fatal shooting. Both Coakley and Johnson appeared for a bond hearing where they were subsequently denied bond. The community was left seeking answers and justice for a life cut short by violence as the search for the primary suspect continued.
