On June 27, 2023, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Beaufort County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to reports of gunfire on Harbor Breeze Drive, St. Helena Island, South Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 36-year-old Brandon Simmons deceased in his vehicle, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
