Anthony L. Rivers Jr., a 31-year-old resident of St. Helena Island, South Carolina, tragically lost his life on May 29, 2021. Rivers was attending a social gathering at a home on Keystone Drive when an altercation with his cousin, Stephan Quinton Polite, escalated into violence. Witnesses reported that Rivers arrived at the gathering intoxicated, which led to a heated exchange of words between the two men. Polite, in response, retrieved a gun from his car and threatened Rivers.
