On a Tuesday evening in the late summer of 2022, the community of Saint Helena Island, South Carolina, was unsettled by an act of violence that claimed the life of 38-year-old Anthwon Washington. The evening of September 13th was disrupted around 8:45 p.m. when the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received a distressing call reporting a person had been shot.
Deputies were dispatched to the area of Ginseng Lane and Seaside Road, where they discovered the grim scene.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement found Anthwon Washington suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
