On March 22, 2024, 38-year-old David Gardner and 41-year-old Christiana Alkire were found deceased in their residence on Pearl Harbor Lane, Saint Helena Island, South Carolina. Both victims had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Family members, concerned after not hearing from the couple for several days—a behavior deemed uncharacteristic—requested a welfare check, leading to the discovery by Beaufort County Sheriff's deputies.
