On July 9, 2023, 22-year-old Rutledge Malik Crawford of North Charleston, South Carolina, was found deceased in a ditch near Napoleon Drive in the Glynn Terrace neighborhood. Responding to an anonymous call around 5:00 p.m., North Charleston Police Department officers discovered Crawford with an apparent gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
