On July 23, 2023, 29-year-old Albert "Butta" Heyward III was fatally shot at the Tap Ultra Lounge in Ridgeland, South Carolina. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when a suspect fired multiple rounds inside the nightclub, striking Heyward. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
