On December 17, 2023, 24-year-old twin brothers Tranquan and Trajaan Fripp of Beaufort, South Carolina, were fatally shot during a confrontation in the parking lot of the Okatie Dance Studio in Ridgeland. The incident, which occurred around 2:30 a.m., also resulted in injuries to two other individuals. Trajaan was pronounced dead at the scene, while Tranquan succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
