Murdered

On January 17, 2024, 20-year-old Abel Huerta Jr. of Ridgeland, South Carolina, was fatally shot while sitting in a vehicle with three friends on Wagon Branch Loop in the Wagon Branch Community. An unidentified assailant, dressed in black clothing and a ski mask, approached the vehicle and opened fire. Huerta sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds. The other occupants of the vehicle were unharmed.
