In the quiet, rural landscape of Jasper County, South Carolina, the life of 20-year-old Abel Huerta Jr. was abruptly ended by an act of violence. On the night of Wednesday, January 17, 2024, Huerta, a male resident of the Ridgeland area, was fatally shot. The incident occurred on a secluded dirt road off of Wagon Branch Loop, where he was sitting in a car with three friends.
