On October 31, 2023, 22-year-old Michael "Alex" McMinn of Belton, South Carolina, tragically lost his life in an accidental shooting. The incident occurred when a family member was demonstrating a newly acquired firearm at a residence on Keowee Road. During the demonstration, the gun unintentionally discharged, striking McMinn in the head. Emergency responders arrived promptly, and McMinn was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
