Sergeant Danny Wilson, a 37-year-old deputy with the Abbeville County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina, was tragically killed on December 8, 2003. The incident occurred when Wilson was investigating a complaint about residents at an Abbeville home. The residents, Arthur Bixby, his wife Rita, and their son Steven, were upset over a small portion of their land being taken through eminent domain to widen Highway 72.
