A quiet Friday morning hunt in the woods of Cameron, South Carolina, turned into a devastating tragedy for the family of Avery Davis. On November 24, 2023, the six-year-old boy was in an elevated deer stand with another child when a hunter on the ground fired his shotgun. A stray pellet from the blast struck Avery in the head.
