In the quiet community of Darlington, South Carolina, the life of 18-year-old Damon Damar Jackson Jr., affectionately known as 'Lil Red,' was tragically cut short on the morning of January 28, 2024. The young man, a recent graduate of Wilson High School's class of 2023, was discovered on Meadowbrook Drive, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound. His sudden and violent death sent ripples of shock and grief through his family and friends, who remembered him as a vibrant individual with a passion for football and baseball.

For months, the investigation into Jackson's death continued, with the Darlington County Sheriff's Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division diligently working the case. The community waited, hopeful for a resolution that would bring a measure of peace to a grieving family. The break in the case finally came on August 15, 2024, when the U.S. Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, acting in coordination with the Florence County Sheriff's Office, located and apprehended two suspects in the neighboring city of Florence.

The individuals taken into custody were identified as brothers, Travon Coe and Travine Coe. Their arrest brought a significant development to the ongoing homicide investigation. Both men were subsequently charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection with the shooting death of Damon Jackson Jr. Following their arrest, the Coe brothers were transported to the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center to await legal proceedings.
