In the late afternoon of August 14, 2017, the life of 19-year-old Tyrell McCain, a Black male from Darlington, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. The incident unfolded on Southern Pine Street, where McCain sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Authorities were summoned to the scene around 4:18 p.m. following reports of shots being fired in the neighborhood.
