In a tragic turn of events on February 28, 2024, Shenita Merchelle Roberts, a 45-year-old Black female from Kings Mountain, North Carolina, was killed in Blacksburg, South Carolina. The incident, which also resulted in the death of her 49-year-old brother, Darriach Derowne Mack, unfolded at their mother's home on Pearson Street.

The Cherokee County Coroner's Office reported that the siblings died at the scene from gunshot wounds. The shooting occurred around 10:20 a.m. and was the result ...
