On September 2, 2023, at approximately 3:45 a.m., 42-year-old Simone L. Heyward was fatally shot in her home on Scotts Mill Drive in North Charleston, South Carolina. Emergency responders arrived to find a family member performing CPR on Heyward; despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene later that morning.
