In North Charleston, South Carolina, a promising young life was cut short by a senseless act of gun violence. JayQuan Milik Lamar Brown, a 16-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on Saturday, May 25, 2024. A sophomore at St. John's High School, JayQuan was known for his academic diligence and his active participation in the JROTC program, with aspirations of serving his country.
