On the evening of August 11, 2024, at approximately 11:03 p.m., deputies from the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of gunfire at 3 Malloy Street in Cheraw, South Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 27-year-old Daquan Malik Blanton suffering from a single gunshot wound to his right upper leg. Blanton was promptly transported to McLeod Hospital in Florence, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
