On October 29, 2024, 54-year-old Lori Hope Wind of Summerville, South Carolina, tragically lost her life while walking with her husband and their dog along the Sawmill Branch Walking Trail. During their evening walk, Lori was fatally shot, and her husband sustained multiple gunshot wounds, resulting in life-threatening injuries.
