On March 5, 2023, at approximately 2 a.m., 30-year-old Montavious Jemar Clifton was fatally shot during an altercation at Cheers Bar, located at 205 North Gloster Street in Tupelo, Mississippi. Responding officers found Clifton suffering from a gunshot wound; he was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
