In the early morning hours of a Sunday in February 2018, the life of 34-year-old Kwame A. Jones of Columbia, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. The male victim was in the Eastover area when a triple shooting erupted around midnight near the intersection of Henry Street and Main Street. Investigators believe the violence was the culmination of an argument that began inside a local club.

He, along with two other wounded individuals, was transported to Palmetto Health Richland for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Jones succumbed to his injuries. The other two victims of the shooting also sustained gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident, the Richland County Sheriff's Department initiated an investigation into the triple shooting.
