On August 10, 2023, Brandon Brooks, age 26, and Taron Woods, age 24, were killed in what Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten described as a "brazen ambush-style killing" in Natchez, Mississippi. The incident occurred on Myrtle Drive in the Morgantown neighborhood shortly before 6 p.m. Both victims were found lying on the ground outside houses with multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene.
