In the afternoon hours of a Monday in Jackson, Mississippi, the life of 22-year-old Markavius Carey was tragically cut short. On November 13, 2023, Carey, a Black male, was discovered by police in the 100 block of Berryhill Place suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
