In the spring of 2018, the life of Terrance Terry, a 28-year-old Black man from Jackson, Mississippi, was tragically cut short. On the evening of May 6th, Terry was at a pool hall on Bailey Avenue when violence erupted. The chaotic scene left two men dead and another person wounded. Terry and another man, 27-year-old Jovorski Blackmon, were both fatally shot.
The Jackson Police Department quickly launched an investigation into the double homicide. However, the case was immediately met with significant challenges. Investigators struggled to find cooperative eyewitnesses, and a lack of concrete evidence hampered their progress from the outset. Despite their efforts to piece together the events of that fatal night, the investigation failed to yield any significant leads.
To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the murders of Terrance Terry and Jovorski Blackmon, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The case has grown cold, leaving a lingering sense of unresolved grief and frustration for Terry's family. They have been vocal about their pain and their desire for justice, periodically appealing to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case. The community continues to hold out hope that those responsible for the senseless act of violence that claimed two young lives will one day be brought to justice.
