In the early afternoon of a December day in Jackson, Mississippi, the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet of the 900 block of Robinson Street. When police officers arrived at the scene around 1:00 p.m. on December 13, 2023, they found a grim discovery. A Black male, 43-year-old Donald Keyun Mitchell, was lying on the ground outside the passenger side of a red Ford Edge. He had been shot multiple times.
