In the fading afternoon light of September 30, 2025, tragedy struck at the Friends Corner Food Mart in Jackson, Mississippi, claiming the life of 19-year-old Joshua Lewis Davis. A Black male, Davis was fatally wounded when gunfire erupted in the 3200 block of Bailey Avenue. When police and the Hinds County coroner arrived at the scene, they found Davis deceased from at least one gunshot wound.
