In the fading afternoon light of September 30, 2025, tragedy struck at the Friends Corner Food Mart in Jackson, Mississippi, claiming the life of 19-year-old Joshua Lewis Davis. A Black male, Davis was fatally wounded when gunfire erupted in the 3200 block of Bailey Avenue.
