In the city of Jackson, Mississippi, a domestic dispute tragically ended the life of 49-year-old Gerald Bates, a dedicated firefighter. On April 7, 2024, Bates was found deceased in a home on Ferguson Drive, having been fatally shot. The circumstances surrounding his death pointed to a domestic conflict with his long-term girlfriend, 41-year-old Tammie Williams, with whom he had been in a relationship for over a decade.
