On August 17, 2024, a tragic mass shooting occurred at a bar in Jackson, Mississippi, resulting in the death of Niger Devon McGee, a 25-year-old resident of Jackson. The incident took place around 1:30 a.m. on West Capitol Street. McGee was fatally shot in the face during the attack, as confirmed by Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart.
