In a tragic turn of events stemming from a domestic dispute, 25-year-old Elisha Bridges, a male resident of Vicksburg, Mississippi, was fatally shot on December 17, 2023. The violent incident occurred in the parking lot of Merit Health Central hospital on Chadwick Drive in Jackson.
Following the shooting, a manhunt ensued for two individuals connected to the crime. The investigation led authorities to identify 29-year-old Deanna Bridges and 26-year-old Jaylein Wallace as suspects.
After being on the run, both individuals turned themselves into the Jackson Police Department in early January 2024.
Upon their surrender, Jaylein Wallace, a native of Edwards, was charged with aggravated assault and murder in connection with the death of Elisha Bridges. Wallace had a prior criminal history, including a 2020 charge for aggravated assault in a shooting in Edwards and another shooting-related arrest in March of 2021. Deanna Bridges, a resident of Vicksburg, was charged with hindering prosecution for her role in the events following the homicide. Investigators have stated that the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute involving the three individuals.
