In the late hours of March 22, 2025, what should have been a day of celebration in Jackson, Mississippi, turned into a scene of violence that claimed the life of 21-year-old Cortez Jerome George. The city had been alive with the energy of the annual St. Paddy's Day parade, but as the festivities wound down, a mass shooting erupted in the downtown area, leaving one dead and several others injured. Cortez George, a resident of Jackson born on January 29, 2004, was fatally wounded in the incident. ...
