In the small town of Soso, Mississippi, a domestic dispute escalated into a fatal encounter for 41-year-old Jason Adam Marshall, a White/Caucasian male. On December 27, 2023, Marshall, who had recently made an unsuccessful bid for mayor, went to the home of his ex-wife. His arrival was in violation of a domestic protection order she had obtained against him in October of that year.
