In the quiet Sunset Subdivision of Starkville, Mississippi, the evening of March 29, 2024, was shattered by the sound of gunfire, leaving a community in mourning and a family grieving the loss of 19-year-old Jequarius Spencer. A Black male, Spencer was fatally wounded in a shooting that occurred on the 100 block of Bennet Drive.
