Quenton Spears, an 18-year-old from Sarasota, Florida, tragically lost his life on July 11, 2015, following a shooting incident at the Family Inn on North Tamiami Trail. Spears was visiting the inn to spend the night with Devontae Robinson, also 18, and his family. According to reports, an argument broke out between Spears and Robinson outside the room, which escalated into a violent confrontation.
During the altercation, a shot was fired inside the room, resulting in Spears being critically injured. He was subsequently admitted to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries but unfortunately succumbed to his wounds.
The Sarasota Police Department quickly launched an investigation into the incident, which was initially treated as a shooting but later reclassified as a murder investigation following Spears' death. Devontae Robinson was identified as the primary suspect in the case.
