On June 8, 2024, at approximately 12:50 a.m., 31-year-old father of six, Dameon Sanford, was fatally shot at a car wash adjacent to the Panola 1st Stop convenience store on Panola Avenue in Batesville, Mississippi. Surveillance footage showed Sanford walking to the car wash, seemingly awaiting someone.
