Rodrick Scurlock, a 24-year-old resident of Pope, Mississippi, tragically lost his life on September 20, 2014, in a shooting incident at Hilltop Grocery, a rural store near Batesville, Mississippi. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. during a gathering at the store, which served as a social club where adults played dominoes and cards. Alongside Scurlock, 20-year-old Quendez Robinson of Batesville was also killed in the shooting.
