Deputy Sheriff Joe Kenneth Cosby, aged 47, tragically lost his life on September 30, 1988, while performing his duties for the Panola County Sheriff's Department in Mississippi. On that fateful day, Deputy Cosby was tasked with transporting a prisoner from the Tunica County Jail to the Panola County Courthouse for a court appearance.
